Why do people hate sacramento
You bet your ass it does. Is it a serious problem? Is it a black eye? But are these people dangerous criminals who want to rob me and eat my brains? What about the parking problems?
You have got to be kidding me. Finding a parking spot in Sacramento is easier than finding a tattoo parlor or hair salon.
I know, I know, I know … we Americans feel a sense of asphalt entitlement when it comes to parking. There are these things called meters. Well, sometimes it seems like that. But in actuality, we have parking enforcement. They, and I know this is hard for some people to understand, enforce parking regulations. If you park where you are supposed to, when you are supposed to, you will avoid feeling their wrath.
What about the crime? What crime? You mean you left your purse on the front seat of your car and someone stole it? Alert the ATF. Show me one violent crime report that shows downtown is a dangerous place. People know their neighbors downtown. You see these people. You say hi. Again, I know this is scary. But give it a chance. I love the lifestyle.
I love not driving my car for days at a time when is the last time you can say you did that? I love the food. I love the people. I love the energy. I love the art. And I love the opportunity. Sacramento is going places.
If you bash it from afar, deriding its evils, I challenge you to roll around in it for a while. Come spend some time on the grid. Because if you do not like where you live, you have two options: change it or move.
If neither of those options appeal to you and you just want to sit idly by and complain, please stop. Do us all a favor and just be quiet while the grownups enjoy all that Sacramento is, and work hard to fix its ills. Submit Your Own Photo! Facebook Twitter Instagram. Home ». Thomas Dodson. You may also like. In another 20 years, this metro will be the envy of A LOT of other cities. Ignore all these other idiots here just hating. Sacramento is fuckin awesome. Ghost Town?
What the hell is that? There is as much in Sacramento and its surrounding areas as there is in San Diego or L. There are tons of clubs, bars, better restaurants, and everybody is moving here. I just moved from San Diego. There is crazy traffic, and no ghosts.
Wow, evil monkey must travel here a lot. Hot Cities in United States. City where the most alcohol is consumed in northern California. City where the weekend starts on Wednesday. Only city in california where everyone eats out for every meal. Amid all this development, the city now known as the hometown of the Oscar-nominated film Lady Bird has carved out a spot for itself in the farm-to-fork movement in California, with new restaurants, coffee shop wine bars and local craft breweries.
Housing is affordable. Crime is low here. But the influx of new residents has also exacerbated longstanding disparities within the city. As the police chief himself admitted at a city council meeting the next night, protests happen regularly in the state capital. But rarely do they result in mass arrests, including those of reporters and clergy, in addition to reports of police brutality.
And as activists pointed out at that same city council meeting, police only seemed to respond this forcefully when the protest took place in an affluent neighborhood. Is it nice to be able to walk down K Street and have people out and have businesses and places to eat? Who benefits? The main battleground is the historically black neighborhood of Oak Park, south of the city center. The neighborhood is easily accessible. Its main thoroughfare, Broadway, allows anyone wishing to head downtown to get there quickly, and anyone wishing to get to south Sacramento to do the same.
Renting in Oak Park has become impossible for many longtime residents, Faison said. Suddenly, it seemed like multiple longtime residents were getting pushed out of their homes, Valenzuela and Faison said.
